Executive Committee

Executive committee is elected by Natya Bharati’s general membership for a 3-year term and is responsible for its operational, day-to-day-management and the production of plays.

President
Paresh Parekh

Occupation: Program Manager at Federal Aviation Administration. Paresh Parekh has been part of most Natya Bharti production teams with lights, sets or sound while acting on stage in few plays. He also has been associated with other theater groups doing Marathi, Gujarati, Hindi and English plays. Theater and flying are his passion. He has 30+ years of experience in running complex programs, collaborating with external groups and seeing projects through successful completion. He intends to utilize his leadership skills to empower and support his Executive Committee to innovate and be creative.


Vice President
Madhuri Subramaniam

Occupation: Licensed Aviation Architect. Madhuri Subramaniam is a licensed Aviation Architect by profession and zealous about the performing arts. She has been a part of Natya Bharati since 2006 and has served on the organization’s Executive Committee Board under multiple Presidents. Being on stage is not new to her; she has acted in several Natya Bharati’s productions and has been a production help in many others. Madhuri a trained Bharatnatyam dancer-instructor and runs her own dance school called ‘Abhinaya Nritya Academy’. She is thankful to the organization for giving her the opportunity to serve another term as Vice President- Creative and Digital Media.


Meera Narasihman

Occupation: Intellectual Property Law & Nautanki. The acting bug caught her more than four decades ago and the Natya Bharati virus has been in her blood for three decades. She has acted in many community theater and professional productions in the DC-metro area for three decades and has been in a few off-Broadway plays. She has also acted in numerous feature films, short films, TV shows and in a music video. Meera hosts a monthly TV show “Potluck” on FPA airing in the DC metro area.


Vikrum Mathur

Occupation: Government Relations Professional. Vikrum Mathur has been acting on stage since the age of three. He debuted with NB as an actor with NA IDHAR KE NA UDHAR KE. He has served on 2 advisory committees for the organization as well as a VP from 2016-2018. He has acted in NB productions such as Bade Bhaisaab, Khidkiyan(directed by Amol Palekar and Sandhya Gokhale) and Gaj Fut Inch. He has acted in non-NB plays Indira, Jisne Lahore Nahin Dekha and Draupadi’s Arranged Marriage, as well as two short films and a tv pilot. He also was a host of Darshan TV from 2009-2012. He is delighted to continue as a VP for Natya Bharati and continue to see it grow.

Bhavin Contractor

Occupation: Senior Director - Business Development Strategy & Cost Management at Visual Solutions Company. Currently working for Visual Solutions Company as a Senior Director - Business Development Strategy & Cost Management. Extensive experience in areas of strategic planning, execution & revenue management of organizational special projects. Bhavin has been involved in Indian Communities non profit organization (India Samaj, Gujarati Samaj DC) activities for last several years. Actively helping mainly for event planning, back stage & front end logistics.

Krishna S. Murti

Krish Murti has been involved with Natya Bharati since 1987 in various capacities, on and off stage. He is known variously as a character actor and a character. Krish's latest acting credentials include roles include roles in A Tryst with Destiny and The Interview. He has directed Kiski Baat, and Everyone Loves a Good Tsunami; and is looking forward to directing Death in San Francisco.

Sanjay Suri

Occupation: Certified Public Accountant in DC Metro Sanjay caught the theatre ‘bug’ in High School when theatre stalwarts like Om Shivpuri and Ravi Baswani directed plays at his school in Delhi. Caught the ‘bug’ again when he joined Natya Bharti almost 25 years ago, constructed sets and played a supporting role in Jisne Lahore Nahi Dekhya. Work and family have kept him away from the stage but he has volunteered his accounting skills as the Treasurer for Natya Bharati, 2 terms in a row. Creating balance sheets comes easier to Sanjay, who has his own accounting firm, than memorizing dialogues. He is always there backstage to help his Natya Bharati friends as and where they need him.
